PKO BP branch in Romania has first transaction for €350 mln of syndicated financing

PKO Bank Polski’s new corporate branch in Romania has signed its first syndicated loan agreement, worth approximately €350 million, with Distributie Energie Oltenia, one of Romania’s largest electricity distribution operators. The deal aims to refinance existing debt and fund green investments over the next seven years, including grid modernization, automation, and renewable energy integration.
The financing involves PKO BP and eight other local and international institutions. This milestone supports PKO’s 2025–2027 foreign expansion strategy, with the Bucharest branch serving both Polish firms in Romania and Romanian companies entering Poland. This is PKO’s fourth foreign corporate branch, following Frankfurt, Prague, and Bratislava. The move strengthens PKO’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe.
