Poland has become Berlin’s most important trading partner

In the first half of 2025, trade between Berlin and Poland reached €2.4 billion, making Poland the German capital’s most important trading partner, according to Berlin’s economic ministry. Berlin exported €734 million worth of goods to Poland and imported €1.6 billion. The city notes growing Polish business activity—around 8,000 of Berlin’s 340,000 Chamber of Commerce members are Polish-run companies, and Polish venture funds are increasingly investing in Berlin start-ups.
Deputy Mayor and Economy Senator Franziska Giffey visited Warsaw to deepen economic ties and attract Polish investment, particularly in cybersecurity, digitalization, optics, photonics, and quantum technologies. Giffey emphasized that Berlin–Warsaw cooperation, marking its 35th anniversary in 2026, strengthens both economic growth and European security.
