Poland Leads NATO in Military Spending

According to a report compiled by NATO, Poland is the leader in terms of military spending. In 2023, it even surpassed the United States in this respect. The data shows that only one-third of NATO members meet the target of 2 percent of GDP spending on the military. And such large and economically strong countries as Germany are far from it. The report also shows how much progress Poland has made, with estimated spending of 3.9 percent of GDP, ranking first in the alliance, ahead of even the USA (3.49 percent).
However, even before, Polish defense spending, taking into account the economic potential, was higher than, for example, Germany. Since 1990, Poland has been spending more on the military than Germany.
