The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) will use EU funds to finance two investment programs aimed at climate adaptation and disaster prevention, focusing on the construction and renovation of water infrastructure. The total budget for these programs under the FEnIKS initiative is over PLN 1.2 billion. Given the current flooding situation, the program will prioritize urgent project proposals, primarily benefiting the Polish Waters Authority and Maritime Offices.

The funding includes 1 billion PLN for building and modernizing water facilities to mitigate flood and drought impacts. Additionally, NFOŚiGW plans to allocate over PLN 220 million for environmental restoration projects. A second application round aims to prepare Eastern Poland's cities for climate change effects, with a budget of PLN 250 million.
