Polish painters are getting more expensive in Europe

As much as 73 percent – this is how much more wall painting services have increased in the last five years, according to Eurostat data. This is not only a high result but also the highest in the entire European Union. Professionals from other professions also raised their price lists.
“If we take into account the rates from all EU countries, it turns out that in five years the price of wall painting has increased by 28 percent. It is almost three times slower than our domestic raise,” analysts from HRE Investments said.
In the group of countries with the fastest-growing rates, we can find other countries of Central and Eastern Europe, i.e. Slovenia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania. In the latter country, the increase in rates was only slightly lower than in Poland.
The other Member States are countries where the cost of painting services has increased less than the European average in the last 5 years. This group includes Greece, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Belgium, Spain, and Denmark. In these countries, the price of wall painting increased by 2 percent (in Greece) to 9 percent (in Spain and Denmark).
As it turns out, not only the services of Polish wall painting experts are among the most expensive in Europe. The same is the case with other professions related to the renovation and construction services sector. The salaries of heating specialists, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters have also increased significantly in recent years. In all these categories, domestic specialists are among the leaders in terms of how quickly their salaries are growing. And so carpenters today demand half more for their services than five years ago. Domestic electricians and plumbers also earn over 40 percent more. On the other hand, the cost of maintenance of heating devices increased the least, i.e. by about 35 percent.
