Prefabrication is changing the rules of the game in residential construction

Prefab construction is not a return to outdated methods but a modern response to rising labor, energy, and material costs, said Kamil Kowalczyk of Unihouse at the European Economic Congress. Prefabrication, including wooden, concrete, and steel methods, offers a way to automate construction, reduce costs, and produce eco-friendly, energy-efficient homes.
Currently, prefabrication accounts for only 2% of Poland’s construction market, highlighting significant growth potential. Modular construction transforms buildings into ready-made products, improving efficiency and quality control. Prefab solutions also allow better management of environmental impact, an increasingly important factor for buyers. Kowalczyk emphasized that prefabrication could help counter rising housing prices while supporting sustainable development.
