Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) will build a 220 kV underground power cable connecting Poland and Lithuania by 2030. The new Harmony Link project will strengthen European energy security and enhance Baltic energy independence from Russia.

The 100 km cable will run through six municipalities in northeastern Poland, avoiding residential and environmentally sensitive areas. Construction will begin in 2027, alongside upgrades to existing 400 kV Ełk-Alytus power lines.

Two new electrical substations will be built in Kalinowo and Suwałki to support regional development, including high-speed rail projects and industrial zones. The EU-funded initiative will further integrate Baltic countries into the European energy grid, reducing reliance on Russian electricity imports.
