As many as 53 percent of respondents are afraid of losing their jobs due to the economic crisis after the Covid-19 pandemic. Poles, as the main concerns related to the risk of losing a job, indicate recession (59.6 percent), longer isolation due to infection (41.6 percent) and automation of their workplace (18.7 percent). Nearly 40 percent of respondents indicate that due to the ubiquitous pandemic, new technological tools have been introduced into their work. Two out of three respondents admit that the current situation has forced them to use their smartphones more often and computer. At the same time, they work much longer and harder in remote work than before, according to the Procontent Communication report entitled "Pandemic automates Poland?"
Robots do not get sick, tire, or transmit the virus – because of these advantages, they are the perfect response to pandemic times. This aspect is visible among employees, as almost every fifth respondent (18.7 percent) is afraid of automating their position, which may be replaced by new technology. At the same time, it should be emphasized that the automation of work was indicated by more respondents afraid of losing their jobs than by the flight of investors from our market (15.9 percent). Even fewer respondents, as only 11.3 percent are afraid of competition from economic immigrants.
“The results of the report show that our society is becoming more and more aware of the risks that may occur when implementing new technological solutions. Employers deciding to automate workstations may face a lot of stress in their teams. This means the necessity to educate and implement a responsible digital policy in companies,” Iwona Kubicz from Procontent Communication emphasized.
