The volume of sold products in the furniture sector in 2023 could decrease by 30% annually as growing electricity and raw materials prices make Polish furniture less competitive in the international market, the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers said.
Only in the period from March to June this year, the amount of furniture sold abroad dropped by 100,000 tonnes, the Chamber president Jan Szynaka said in a letter to the prime minister, appealing for support for the industry. The letter calls for an urgent inclusion of the Polish furniture industry in the compensation system for high energy prices and limiting wood price growth.
