Scanway, in collaboration with Marble Imaging, will undertake the SEMOViS project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) through the InCubed program. The project’s total funding is €3.94 million, with €3.2 million allocated to Scanway and €0.74 million to Marble Imaging. Scanway will develop and deliver two telescopes, including one with visible light resolution below 1 meter per pixel, for a demonstration microsatellite. This satellite is scheduled to launch between late 2025 and early 2026.

The project aims to create Europe’s first constellation for Very High Resolution (VHR) Earth observation, addressing the growing demand for high-resolution, multispectral data. The contract, effective for two years, is expected to bring approximately €1.6 million in revenue each year for Scanway from 2024 to 2026. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance Europe's capabilities in space-based Earth observation and reduce reliance on non-European sources.
