Natalie Portman's speech, an actress, Oscar winner, film producer, and social activist, was the highlight of this year's IMPACT'23 congress. The well-known and popular global star openly presented her views on women's equality.
"When I was growing up, I believed that women had equal rights and that the fight had been won by my mother's generation. However, over time I discovered that there is still a lot to be done, not only in terms of pay equality but also in terms of the opportunities women have compared to men," Natalie Portman said.
"My mentors once told me a very important thing: to achieve equality, it's not enough to have one woman in each room. There should be an equal number of them, and only then will we finally break through the >>glass ceiling<<," the actress added.
