On July 1, 2025, a monthly housing allowance for uniformed services—including police, firefighters, and border guards—will take effect, ranging from PLN 900 to PLN 1,800, depending on the service location. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the initiative, aligning officers' benefits with those of professional soldiers.
The new allowance replaces existing small benefits and will be tax-free, aiming to improve officers' financial stability and attract more recruits. Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed that the first payments will be made in July.
Tusk also pledged to continue the police modernization program, securing new budget allocations for training, tools, and station upgrades. He emphasized that law enforcement personnel, who work 24/7, deserve full public respect and adequate support.
