The water level in the Vistula River at the Bulwary Wiślane station in Warsaw has dropped to 25 cm, a new record low and worse than in 2015. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued an alarming update on X (formerly Twitter) about this situation. The water level is still decreasing and is expected to reach just 20 cm by Thursday. Record low levels were also recorded at the Nadwilanówka station, where the water level was 59 cm on Sunday morning, surpassing the 2022 record by 9 cm.
Forecasts predict a further drop to 53 cm by the end of next week. IMGW’s warnings about hydrological droughts remain in effect, particularly in eastern Poland.
