Poland and Turkey sign security cooperation agreement in Ankara
Poland and Turkey signed a security cooperation agreement in Ankara, covering a wide range of defense-related activities. According to Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the memorandum includes intelligence sharing, joint military exercises, cooperation between security services, development of the defense industry, and strengthening armed forces’ operational capabilities. The agreement also deepens NATO cooperation and launches broader government-to-government collaboration. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized Turkey’s importance as a strategic partner and highlighted discussions on drone cooperation, including upgrades to Bayraktar TB2 systems.
Poland hopes the partnership will also open export opportunities for Polish military equipment. The two countries plan further strategic dialogue, including regional security talks with Romania, ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara in 2026.
