In 2023, over 83% of Polish adults believed starting a business in Poland is easy, but less than half (43%) viewed it as a good career option, according to a report by PARP and the University of Economics in Katowice. The optimism about entrepreneurship has not returned to pre-pandemic levels, with fewer people seeing it as a viable career path.
Only 2.6% of those not currently in business planned to start one in the next three years. Major discouragements include fear of failure (52%) and economic uncertainty, exacerbated by factors like the pandemic, war, and legislative chaos. Additionally, a significant number of businesses closed due to unprofitability in 2023.
