CEO of PFR TFI: Poland needs a strategy for FDI
PFR TFI CEO Piotr Dmuchowski argues that Polish companies need a new foreign investment strategy focused on accessing technological know-how to stay competitive. Poland’s outward investments remain low at only 5% of GDP, yet nearly half of Polish firms now plan expansion abroad. Greenfield investments – especially in AI, data centers and digital technologies – are accelerating, but Polish businesses also need more R&D capacity and partnerships. Dmuchowski highlights joint ventures and acquisitions as key ways to acquire advanced technologies, including in semiconductors, renewable energy and ICT.
With tools such as the Foreign Expansion Fund, firms can diversify geographically, enter high-growth markets and build long-term competitiveness as the global economy slows and AI reshapes value chains.
