Poland to sign treaty with UK to strengthen defense
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced after meeting UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer that Poland and the United Kingdom will sign a cooperation treaty on May 27, focused mainly on defense and long term military collaboration. The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in other areas as well. The UK is also seeking closer ties with the European Union and views Poland as a reliable partner to support this process, especially as public opinion in Britain has shifted after Brexit. Tusk also highlighted broader plans to deepen cooperation between the EU, the UK, Canada, and Norway, while maintaining strong transatlantic relations with the United States.
