EY: globalization losing to geopolitics
Jacek Kędzior of EY says regional cooperation and targeted investment are key in an era of global uncertainty. As globalization gives way to geopolitics, countries must balance sovereignty with collaboration, particularly in the Baltic region across areas such as energy, cybersecurity, and defense.
EY’s new Europe Central region, spanning 33 countries from the Nordics to Central Asia, reflects shifting investment flows and supply chains. Nordic countries bring capital, technology, and ESG standards, while Central Europe offers skilled labor and strategic location.
Kędzior also highlighted artificial intelligence as a major economic shift, noting that companies are moving from experimentation to implementation and must rethink business models, leadership, and workforce skills to stay competitive.
