Chinese company to build large industrial plant to build energy storage systems in Silesia
Lower Silesia is attracting another major Asian industrial investment. Sungrow, one of the world’s leading producers of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, has chosen Poland for its first factory in Europe. The plant will be built in Wałbrzych and represents an investment of EUR 230 million, creating around 400 jobs. Production is expected to start within the next 12 months.
The 65,000-square-meter facility will manufacture inverters and energy storage systems, with annual capacity reaching up to 20 GW of inverters and 12.5 GWh of storage systems. Sungrow says the project will use advanced production lines and quality-control systems. The location was chosen for its skilled workforce, technical universities, and investment incentives. By producing closer to customers, Sungrow aims to shorten supply chains, improve logistics, and strengthen its position in the European renewable energy market.
