Construction of nuclear power plant intended to drive development in domestic industry

Poland’s first nuclear power plant is expected to be not only an energy project but also a major driver of industrial and technological growth. Experts highlight its potential to boost innovation, exports, and create thousands of jobs. According to a Baker McKenzie and Polityka Insight report, Poland is 58% ready to begin construction, with strong institutional and public support (over 92% approval). However, technological capacity and workforce shortages remain key challenges. Around 40% of the project’s value could come from Polish firms, mainly in steel fabrication, automation, and engineering services.
Training and certification programs led by IGEOS Nuclear and Polish universities have already prepared 800 specialists, helping domestic companies join the European nuclear supply chain.
