Contract for Apache helicopter service signed in Łódź
Poland signed an agreement in Łódź between Military Aviation Works No. 1 and Lockheed Martin to service AH-64 Apache attack helicopters. The deal is part of a broader contract signed in August 2024, with offset commitments worth about $10.8 billion.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the purchase strengthens both national defense and domestic industry, highlighting that Poland negotiated favorable terms, including technology transfer and new capabilities for local facilities.
Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that Poland will operate 96 Apaches, making it the second-largest fleet globally after the United States. The helicopters will support land forces, enhancing military readiness and ensuring stronger air support for Poland’s expanding ground army.
