Industrial Development Agency to support Polish technology parks
Polish technology parks are calling for stronger coordination and state support, arguing that the current system is fragmented and inefficient. Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu (ARP) has announced plans to organize and better integrate the sector. Poland has nearly 70 industrial, technology, and science parks, most created after 2004 with EU funding, but they operate independently with different ownership models and regional specializations.
Representatives say parks often lack funding, commercialization expertise, and coordination mechanisms, forcing them to operate largely without systemic government support. A consortium of five major parks reported that companies operating within them generated about PLN 5 billion in revenue and PLN 335 million in net profit in 2023.
Technology parks want ARP to help simplify support systems for startups and SMEs, improve cooperation with economic zones, and better connect innovation policy with national industrial strategy, especially as EU innovation funding is expected to decline.
