The downturn in the processing industry became more serious in May with the industry’s companies now being pessimistic about the prospects for the coming months, according to a study by the Institute of Economic Development of the Warsaw School of Economics.
After a slight improvement in April, in May the situation in the industry deteriorated again. Despite the positive impact of seasonal factors, the forecasts of the sector’s enterprises remain negative. The general business climate index in the manufacturing industry (IRG IND) decreased by 0.8 points during the month, to -0.3 points. The current index value is 3.1 points lower than the value recorded a year ago.
