Head of EC reassures that Brexit won’t bring problems for citizens

The UK's exit from the EU, which is expected to take place at the end of January, will not have negative consequences for EU citizens living in the Isles, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said.
“The good news for EU citizens who live and work in the United Kingdom and British citizens living in the EU is that for them everything stays as it is, for the rest of their lives,” the head of the EC emphasized.
She noted that from the point of view of companies it is important that Brexit will take place in an orderly manner, based on an exit contract. It prevents so-called hard Brexit, but the transitional period it provides, during which nothing changes, will only be valid for 11 months – until the end of 2020.
