The Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the lives of people across Europe over the past two years. Although EU and national-level policy and fiscal interventions mitigated some of the most severe potential economic and employment impacts of the crisis, the wide-ranging consequences of the pandemic endure. It is in this context that Eurofound launches the latest round of its Living, working, and Covid-19 e-survey; to document how life has changed, and provide the most up-to-date picture for policymakers as they respond to the challenges of a profoundly changed Europe.

The fifth round of the survey, launched today, takes place at a remarkable time. The pandemic changed the landscape of work, well-being, life, and society. Although many are now returning to work and reconnecting with their communities, much has changed irrevocably. Previous rounds of the survey revealed declining mental health and trust, as well as rising inequalities, and – although they took place during times when citizens across Europe experienced more acute isolation – the now enduring nature of the pandemic brings into question long-term resilience and optimism for the future. This situation unfolds concurrently with a major conflict in Europe, and an escalating humanitarian crisis that is felt across the continent and internationally.

Eurofound e-survey is available at the link:  Living, working, and COVID-19.
