In November 2024, Poland's inflation rate, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), stood at 3.9% y/y, down from 4.2% in October, according to Eurostat. On a monthly basis, prices increased by 0.3%.
The HICP, calculated using a standardized EU methodology, is a key indicator for assessing price stability under the Maastricht Treaty. It differs from the CPI as it incorporates data from both household budget expenditures and national accounts, whereas CPI relies solely on household budgets.
The decline in HICP inflation suggests a gradual easing of price pressures, aligning with broader trends in economic stabilization across the EU.
