Grupa Azoty demands anti-dumping duties on urea from Belarus and Russia

Grupa Azoty plans to file a request with the European Commission (EC) for anti-dumping duties on urea imports from Russia and Belarus. Vice President Hubert Kamola announced the move, citing increased fertilizer imports—3.5 million tons in the first 10 months of the year, with 36% originating from these countries.
The company also supports 30–40% tariffs on mineral fertilizers from these nations, with EC proposals expected in January 2025. Poland, alongside Baltic states, has lobbied for these measures, requiring support from 55% of EU member states to pass. Kamola highlighted ongoing discussions on the 16th sanctions package against Russia, potentially targeting agribusiness. Grupa Azoty currently produces 4.5 million tons of fertilizers annually.
