Consumer inflation stood at 5 percent annually in October 2024, according to preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Compared to the previous month, prices of consumer goods and services increased by 0.3 percent, GUS also reported.
Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose by 4.9 percent y/y, while energy carriers saw an increase of 11.5 percent. Fuel prices for private transportation remained unchanged.
Monthly, food and non-alcoholic beverage prices increased by 0.7 percent, energy carriers rose by 0.3 percent, and fuel prices for private transportation decreased by 2.2 percent.
