Krakow is preparing district for 55,000 inhabitants for Płaszów and Rybitw
Kraków is close to approving a master plan for about 1,050 hectares in the Płaszów and Rybitwy areas, one of the largest urban redevelopment projects in Poland. The city plans to transform the largely industrial zone into a green district for about 55,000 residents, with parks, public services, new tram lines, and improved roads. A key issue is relocating waste-processing companies, many of which have expressed interest in moving to a new site in eastern Kraków.
The plan also includes a few high-rise buildings as architectural landmarks rather than dense skyscraper clusters. Development will follow a phased model through 2050, requiring investors to build infrastructure such as roads, schools, and parks before residential construction begins.
