At the Baltic Power offshore wind farm—developed by Orlen Group and Northland Power—all transition pieces linking foundations to turbines have now been installed, Orlen announced. This milestone follows the completion of 78 monopile foundations driven into the seabed a month earlier.
Each transition piece, around 20 meters long and weighing up to 350 tons, is tailored to its location and equipped with access platforms, cranes, and internal electrical systems to support turbine operations and maintenance.
Manufacturing took place in Polish facilities, including Żary, Niemodlin, and Łęknica, using largely domestic steel.
Installation of turbines and cabling is ongoing, with about 20 vessels active daily. More than 80 vessels and 4,500 personnel have participated so far. First power is expected later this year, with full completion planned for the second half of 2026.
Orlen reported revenues of PLN 296.95 billion in 2024.
