The mental state of children and youth in Poland is deteriorating.
"There is a lack of psychologists in Polish schools, often also a lack of sensitivity and support. And if a child does not have it at home, then all the more it should have it at school," Barbara Nowacka, Minister of Education, said.
"Statistics show that in Poland, 2 percent of children aged 6–12 years suffer from depression and as much as 20 percent in the adolescent group," Katarzyna Dubno, a board member of the Adamed Foundation, added.
These worrying data in recent years have been influenced, among others, by the isolation caused by the pandemic, and the geopolitical situation disturbing the sense of security. This is additionally compounded by crises at home or in school.
