11 editions, around 20 000 participants, both at conference as well as present in front of computer screens, 210 technical workshops. This is the summary for over 10-years history of the Open Source Day, event that every year attracts thousands of IT and new technology enthusiasts. This year conference will take place on 14th of May in Warsaw - (Legia stadium). What is the driving force and the hallmark of Open Source Day is the sharing of knowledge and experience by the best IT experts on the market. Participants will be able to take part in many workshops about artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, automatization, cloud computing and IT safety.

Dariusz Świąder, President of Linux Polska, organizer of the Open Source Day conference: The 12th edition of Open Source Day conference is quite special. At the same time we celebrate 21st birthday of the open source movement, that comes not only in its third decade, but also in a completely new era. During the event, which will take place in May, participants will get the opportunity to learn more about open source technology and what are the perspectives of the most important trends in the development of modern IT technologies, which nowadays are the basis for efficient functioning for all branches of the economy, also here in Poland. Study by the Linux Poland shows that 9 from 10 representatives of polish technology sector use open source.

Open source solutions are very popular in commercial sector, but also more and more public institutions want to implement “more open” IT tools. The best examples are Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych and Agencja Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa. Therefore knowledge about the benefits that open sources bring to various companies should get the specialists in the IT industry, but also to decision-makers in enterprises and institutions responsible for IT infrastructure.

Dariusz Świąder, Linux Polska: Building a knowledge-sharing platform about open source what was missing in Poland, and raising awareness about open source solutions, was the main goal guiding us in organizing the first edition of the Open Source Day conference. We have accomplished it, but our intention has not changed in 11 years. Once again, we organize the event that has become a celebration of open source community and users, offering participants a decent dose of the most up-to-date and proven information in the area of new technologies.
