Poland to begin deregulation in May

Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Poland will begin deregulation efforts in May 2025 to reduce bureaucratic burdens and stimulate the economy. The initiative, led by Rafał Brzoska, aims to simplify regulations across seven key areas, including taxes, judiciary efficiency, digitalization, energy security, and business growth.
One major reform is eliminating penalties for accidental taxpayer errors, shifting the burden of proof to tax authorities. The government will also implement automatic approval of requests if officials fail to respond on time.
By April’s end, 300 deregulation proposals are expected, addressing inefficiencies that burden both businesses and citizens. Tusk emphasized that cutting red tape will enhance Poland’s economic competitiveness and social well-being while aligning with European reform efforts.
