Poland with higher percentage of women in leadership positions compared to the EU average

Women account for 43% of managerial positions in Poland, compared to the EU average of 35%, according to data from the Polish Economic Institute. Latvia has the highest percentage of women in managerial positions at 46%.
Among the sectors where women hold managerial positions, trade dominates, with nearly one-third of women in these positions in Poland working in this sector. Public administration and industry are the second and third largest sectors, respectively, although these numbers are more than twice as small.
Women make up 24% of boards of directors in Polish stock exchange-listed companies, while the EU average is 32%.
The French have the highest percentage of women on boards of directors at 45%, while companies from Cyprus, Estonia, and Hungary have the lowest.
