PRCH: 15 retail facilities built and another 5 modernized in first half ‘24

In the first half of 2024, Poland saw the construction of 15 new commercial buildings over 5,000 m² GLA, with an additional five expanded or modernized, according to data from the Polish Council of Shopping Centers (PRCH). These developments added nearly 190,000 m² of retail space, bringing the total in Poland to over 13.5 million m² GLA by the end of June 2024. The growth in retail space confirms the strong health of the retail sector, with investment activity up by over 30% compared to previous years.
Most of the new developments were retail parks, especially in the Silesia region, with Karuzela Holding being the most active investor.
