Production companies facing Covid challenges

The new reality resulting from the pandemic has raised uncertainty among many employees about employment, salary levels and the overall economic situation in the country and Europe. This is confirmed by the data presented by the Crown Monitor. Almost 50 percent of Poles were worried in April whether they would still have a job. Remote performance of duties and suspension of certain production lines only deepened the feeling of uncertainty. Importantly, studies systematically carried out since the beginning of the pandemic by NEUROHM and BradConsulting in cooperation with Onet indicate that we are currently dealing with an increase in the wave of anxiety in society. Its scale is comparable to that which existed in March at the beginning of the pandemic. According to data, the percentage of Poles fearing their own health increased by 14 percentage points. An upward trend was observed along with the lifting of government restrictions and restrictions.

One of the effective strategies to eliminate the negative attitude of employees is to introduce appropriate management principles in the company. In this matter, honest communication with employees and striving to provide them with safe working conditions proved to be the most effective. Enterprises that have adhered to the principles of ethical management since the beginning of the pandemic are now enjoying great trust from employees. As indicated by research carried out by the Responsible Business Forum (FOB), seven out of ten employees in Poland positively assess the actions taken by their employer in the era of coronavirus threat.

Production companies have faced the biggest challenge in the last several weeks. Due to their specificity, the solution based on remote work was only available to some employees. Despite this, many employers managed to implement solutions that reconciled production continuity with an adequate level of security.

“For manufacturing companies such as ours, maintaining proper health and safety procedures and complying with employee protection rules is the norm. We are prepared and taught work in demanding conditions. Of course, the pandemic situation meant that we verified part of the processes and introduced a sanitary regime and additional restrictions, especially since during the pandemic part of the production worked without stoppages,” Monika Kuczyńska, HR Director at NSG Group in Poland, commented.
