Report: only 37% of respondents believe digital competences important for career

A Pracuj.pl report points out that 37% of Poles believe digital skills are crucial for future careers, while 49% prioritize soft skills. Despite 65% rating their digital abilities positively, only 44% of Poles aged 16–74 have basic digital skills, ranking third-lowest in the EU, ahead of Bulgaria (36%) and Romania (28%). In contrast, 83% of Dutch citizens possess such skills, with the EU average at 56%.

Industry differences exist: 85% of IT workers rate their digital skills highly, compared to 59% in construction. While 62% of respondents believe digital skills are necessary to secure or retain jobs, only 37% follow advancements in AI. Yet, 60% are eager for AI training.

Interest in tech careers is high, especially in IT, with 45% willing to switch if skilled. Poles recognize the growing importance of lifelong learning and digital proficiency for career growth, particularly in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
