Poland’s government has approved legislation that would classify short-term rentals of up to 30 days as hotel services. The proposal aims to reduce unregistered activity and implement EU regulations.

A new Central Register of Tourist Accommodation Facilities would cover all short-term rental properties, regardless of whether they are operated by formally registered businesses or private individuals. Each property would need operating rules and would be subject to verification.

Authorities could remove facilities from the register for serious violations, including repeated disturbances affecting residents in housing cooperatives or condominium communities. The bill also clarifies the legal definitions of hotel services and entrepreneurs, making it easier to register all properties offered through platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com.
