Study: Gen Z expects adequate pay and job stability

Generation Z, often seen as idealistic and socially engaged, is in fact highly pragmatic when it comes to work, according to the “Work War Z” study by Enpulse. The top priority for 40% of respondents is a good salary, with 26% citing it as the main driver of job satisfaction. Career development (15%) and work-life balance (14%) are important but secondary.
Nearly half say money is their key motivator, and one in four openly admits low pay reduces their engagement. Flexibility matters less—only 6% rank it highly. For Gen Z, success means financially rewarding work. Employers aiming to attract young talent must prioritize competitive salaries over perks or company culture alone.
