The first new domestic private equity fund in years begins buying in Poland

Spire Capital, Poland’s first entirely new private equity fund in a decade, has closed fundraising at €90 million, with backing from EIF, PFR, EBRD, and private investors. Founded by Krzysztof Konopiński, Arkadiusz Podziewski, and Łukasz Wierdak, the fund specializes in profitable small and medium-sized tech companies in sectors such as tech-enabled services, software, and e-commerce.
About 35% of capital comes from Polish private investors, including family offices. Since its 2023 first close, Spire has invested in four companies, including Neo Hospital, Mooveno, Bioseco, and Chocolissimo, and targets a 10–12 company portfolio. It often replaces VC investors or buys stakes from founders, aiming to streamline operations and prepare firms for strategic sales. New investments are planned for late 2025.
