The Senate considering act on transparency of housing prices

On May 13, the Senate Infrastructure Committee will review a proposed law mandating price transparency in housing sales. While well-intentioned, the Polish Association of Developers (PZFD) warns the law is flawed. They argue it covers only about 10–12% of the market, as it excludes developer agreements made during early investment stages.
Developers also criticize vague data submission requirements and steep penalties—up to 10% of revenue—for non-compliance. The bill controversially extends obligations to private sellers. Concerns also include impractical demands to publish prices for optional features like parking. Despite industry backlash, the government insists the law will proceed. The Senate is expected to consider corrections during its May 14–15 session.
