UOKiK issued 900 decisions and imposed over PLN 1.15 bln in fines in ‘25
In 2025, the President of Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) issued 900 decisions, including 369 related to competition protection and 530 to consumer protection, and imposed more than PLN 1.15 billion in fines. This included over PLN 580 million for anti-competitive practices and PLN 545 million for violations of collective consumer interests and abusive contract clauses.
UOKiK President Tomasz Chróstny said the authority took decisive action against unfair market practices and cartels, stressing that its work also led to improved business conduct and fair compensation for customers. Despite budget constraints, the office plans to remain highly active in 2026.
Additionally, PLN 307 million from earlier final rulings was paid into the state budget. Enforcement has also begun against Gazprom, which faces a PLN 174 million fine related to the Nord Stream 2 case. Consumers gained at least PLN 160 million in benefits in 2025.
