US to provide Poland USD 4 bln loans guarantee for military modernization

The United States will grant Poland a $4 billion loan guarantee under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program to support the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces, according to the Polish Ministry of National Defence. The agreement will be signed on Friday in Warsaw by U.S. Under Secretary of State Brent T. Christensen and Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
This adds to a growing portfolio of U.S. financial support for Poland’s military upgrades, which has exceeded $11 billion over the past two years. Previous FMF agreements have funded the purchase of Abrams tanks, F-35 jets, Patriot missile systems, air defense systems, and Apache helicopters, reinforcing Poland’s defense amid rising regional tensions.
