The annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, runs from January 21-24.
In the latest survey conducted among 750 participants and experts of the Forum, questions were asked about the greatest risks and threats of the coming years.
For the first time, all five of the top and most likely global threats for the next decade are environmental threats. It is about extreme weather phenomena and natural disasters, man-made ecological disasters, a serious loss of biodiversity and, finally, a failure to limit climate change and adapt to its effects.
This is a huge change in the attitude of people associated with Davos compared to what happened 10 years ago. At that time, the list of major risks was dominated by threats to the global economy and financial system.
