Poland currently lacks any functioning housing support program, leading to market instability and missed economic opportunities, according to Zbigniew Juroszek, CEO of Atal. Speaking at the European Economic Congress, he criticized recent proposals, particularly subsidies limited to the secondary market, calling them the worst option. Juroszek stressed that supporting only the resale market undermines the construction sector, which drives economic growth and employment.

To address the demographic crisis, Poland must increase housing supply across all segments—premium, small city apartments, student housing, and social housing. A comprehensive, long-term housing strategy would stimulate infrastructure development, create jobs, attract expatriates back to Poland, and benefit the state’s economy and demographic health.
