Economic Uncertainty Emerges as Key Threat to Polish Businesses Amid Global Trade Turmoil

Rising economic uncertainty is becoming one of the most pressing challenges for companies in Poland, second only to high labor costs. According to the April edition of the Monthly Business Climate Index by PIE and BGK, 60 percent of entrepreneurs view the lack of economic stability as a major barrier to operations, up 2 percentage points from March.
“Crises are as much a shock to the system as they are an opportunity. If we respond wisely, we can emerge stronger,” Małgorzata Mroczkowska-Horne, General Director of the Lewiatan Confederation, said.
Mroczkowska-Horne emphasized that businesses need predictability to plan effectively. Global trade disruptions, geopolitical tensions, and broken supply chains create cascading effects that are hard to predict and control. In this climate, ensuring resilience and adapting to evolving risks are critical for long-term business survival and competitiveness.
