Experts: Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) will come under pressure in the coming months

Poland’s stock market faces turbulence in late 2025 amid risks of higher CIT for banks, rate cuts, and budget deficit concerns. Analysts expect elevated volatility, with WIG20 blue chips possibly underperforming mid- and small-cap stocks. Banks already priced in some risks—WIG-Banki fell 13% since August—yet further downside may hinge on whether President Nawrocki vetoes the tax hike.
Experts suggest shifting focus to industrial and retail sectors, which seasonally perform better at year-end. Foreign capital inflows remain decisive, but policy uncertainty and leadership changes at state-owned firms weigh on sentiment. An optimistic scenario—such as peace talks on Ukraine or a presidential veto—could spark a rally, but consolidation is the base case.
