By September 15, 2025, 1,994 employers applied to join Poland’s pilot program testing reduced working hours with full pay, according to the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk called this number a success, highlighting participation from both small and large companies as well as public institutions. The program will run in three stages until May 2027, with projects eligible for up to PLN 1 million in funding. Employers may design their own models, such as a four-day workweek or shorter workdays, while maintaining pay and employment levels.

However, business groups show little enthusiasm, citing costs, staffing issues, and distrust of the program’s ideological tone. Many expect only a few dozen projects will be approved from the initial pool.
