Government announces Deregulation 2.0 to make tax changes
The Polish government has launched “Deregulation 2.0,” following the implementation of more than 160 of the 349 deregulation measures agreed with business groups. The next package, expected to take effect in mid-2027, is aimed at making it easier to do business in Poland. Proposed changes include a free mobile app for issuing e-receipts, pre-filled VAT returns prepared by tax offices, and a new five-year review system for individual tax interpretations. General tax interpretations would apply only going forward, protecting taxpayers from retroactive effects.
The government also wants uniform interpretations of local taxes across municipalities, proportional property tax payments for co-owners, broader use of “silent consent” in tax procedures, and fewer obligations to submit data already available online.
