MPs push to end time changes

A group of MPs from the Polish People's Party (PSL) has submitted a bill to the Sejm seeking to abolish time changes in Poland. The proposal would make Central European Summer Time (CEST) the official year-round standard, according to the Sejm’s website.
Supporters argue that keeping CEST permanently would align Poland with most EU countries for most of the year, except for Ireland and Portugal. They claim that while winter sunrises would be later, extended daylight in the afternoon would be more beneficial for work and study.
The justification for the bill states that biannual time changes create "cyclical chaos" in the economy, disrupt daily life, and negatively impact public health. PSL lawmakers believe a fixed time system would stabilize biological rhythms and improve Poles’ quality of life.
